Tour Wedge

TOUR WEDGE®

The keys to confident wedge play are control and consistency. With the new Gorge™ Groove design and multiple sole options of the PING Tour wedges, you will be able to improve on both. The Tour wedge is available in three sole widths so you can fit a wedge to your game and playing conditions: Thin Sole (TS), Wide Sole (WS) and Standard Sole (SS). Each of them offers the versatility to open or close the clubface to play virtually any type of shot.

3 SOLE WIDTHS

Three different sole widths help you fit a wedge to your game and playing conditions. From left to right: The thin sole (TS) for shallower swings; the standard sole (SS) for most swing styles; and the wide sole (WS), if you have a steeper angle of attack.

GORGE GROOVES

The groove’s dimensions – width, depth, spacing, radius, and wall angles – are precision milled to maximize spin for control and consistency.

PING offers a variety of shaft flexes in steel and graphite to meet every golfer’s needs and preferences. Selecting the proper shaft flex for your swing will help you get the most distance and accuracy from every shot. Generally, players with faster swing speeds require stiffer shafts to keep the ball trajectory lower, while players with slower swing speeds will require more flexible shafts to produce a higher ball trajectory.
The choice of steel or graphite shafts is usually based on preferences for weight and/or feel. Players seeking a lighter overall weight and/or a softer feel in their irons may prefer graphite shafts, while players who prefer a standard weight club with a firmer feel may prefer steel shafts.

GRIP COLOR CODE DESCRIPTION
ID8 FULL CORD
colorcode2 Rubber grip with dog-bone texture and soft cord for comfort and control.
PING ID8
colorcode A soft rubber grip with dog-bone texture that offers enhanced control, the PING ID8 is the standard grip on G15 & i15 Series. Available in six color-coded sizes for golfers with different hand sizes.
PING offers a variety of grip sizes and styles to fit different hand sizes and texture preferences. Since grip size influences your wrist action, and therefore the direction of your shots, it is commonly used by fitters to affect ball flight.
PING color-coded grips are available in six different diameters, and can be further customized with grip tape according to your needs. Once the neutral grip color code has been determined based on hand measurements, golfers may consider smaller diameter grips to help control fades and slices, or larger diameter grips to help control draws and hooks.

Gorge Groove technology starts with arguably the most precise milling process in the industry. We mill the Gorge groove at PING so we can hold very tight tolerances to ensure maximum spin. By managing the process, we can achieve the optimal size and shape of grooves for generating consistent, reliable spin and trajectories for confident shot making. The Tour wedge is available in three sole widths:

TS (Thin Sole) has the least bounce and is best for shallow swings and firm sand or turf conditions. SS (Standard Sole) offers medium bounce and performs great from most turf conditions and for most swing styles. WS (Wide Sole) has the most bounce and is exceptional in softer sand and turf conditions, or if you have a steep angle of attack. Which is Best? To determine the best wedge for you, consider your divot pattern. If you take deep divots, the WS will improve prevent excessive digging. If your divots are shallower, the TS will help you get the lead edge under the ball more easily and impart spin.
